Wow. There's so much interesting news coming through my Google Reader this morning that I'm going to be here all day. For starters, Amazon is incorporating wikis into its already info-rich product databases. Rob Hof tells us all about it. Apparently, they're using wikis to create community-authored product descriptions from a neutral point of view (for other perspectives, customers are encouraged to use customer reviews). It's an interesting prospect and way for customers to share information about the products they purchase. What I'm wondering is how these Amazon wikis will compare to those from Wikipedia. Will Amazon pay professional editors and moderators to keep these things looking sharp? I'm excited to see how this unfolds.
