Gmail from Google

This has done it's bit already around the web, but I'm sure there are a few people subscribing to email notification on Kairosnews that might not have picked up on it. Google has a pilot program for a new project, Gmail, a free email service in the spirit of Yahoo and MSN. Well, not quite. According to Wired, Google plans to offer a couple of things not available from other free email services such as 1 gig of storage and a Google search to access emails. Sounds great, but the downside is that Google will include advertisements in messages based on the text of your messages. I'm touched by the irony of Google adding their context-sensitive advertisements to the many spam I get. So with Google, every email received will potentially have spam, and then there's the spam on top of spam.
