Kairos: A Journal of Rhetoric, Technology and Pedagogy seeks
applications for an Interviews Editor (or several Interviews
Co-Editors). This section, featured in each issue of Kairos, presents
interviews with individuals doing exciting work related to the journal's focus.
The duties of the Interview Editor include:
* Contacting scholars or groups and arranging for interviews.
* Arranging for interviews to be conducted by other people or conducting
interviews themselves.
* Conducting interviews in a variety of formats (electronic,
in-person, and through other means)
* Transcribing the interview and editing the transcription
* Working with the interviewee for approval
* Making layout and design choices for the interview
* Creating the interview webtextPublishing the webtext to the Kairos site
* Collaborating with the Kairos editorial board and staff to make
decisions about future issues and future directions for the journal.
The interviews published in Kairos are important conversations.
Whoever conducts an interview has to prepare with questions about the
scholar's work, arrange (in-person or electronic) meetings with the
scholar, and communicate with the scholar at all stages of the
project. The Interviews Editor must be committed to overseeing all
stages of interviews to completion and providing quality material by
the deadlines for each issue.
We invite applications from interested individuals. To be considered,
please submit the following materials to the Kairos Editors, James
Inman and Doug Eyman at keditors@technorhetoric.net by December 1,
2004:
* An application email (with the subject line: Application:
KairosInterviews Editor) that explains your fitness for the position
* A curriculum vita (as an attached document)
* Two emails of recommendation from individuals
